Roof repairs
Roof repairs are good for the soul and for the roof.
Professional roof leak repair in Cambridgeshire
Roof leak repairs are well known for coming back, even after repair. This usually happens because the leak appears in a different place to where water first entered.
Our experience across hundreds of roofs means we have become good at identifying the source of leaks and fixing them first time.
We always offer a free, pre-work site inspection by our experienced company owner, to make sure work goes to plan and the repair lasts long term. We also offer same day repairs for urgent links when possible.

Reviews of Cambridge Roofing and Plastics

Angus Cameron
“Jason was excellent throughout the whole process from initial inspection of the facia and soffit that needed replacing. When the job was completed he came back and inspected everything to ensure everything completed correctly. Great communication throughout the job and I would highly recommend this company.”

Paul Srahan
"Although I only needed a small(ish) guttering repair job doing Jason was more than happy to help. He was super responsive and kept me fully updated about when he could do the job. He arrived exactly when he said he would, and as I was at work, he sent me photos of the problem and the work they were doing to fix it. I am very happy to recommend Cambridge Roofing and Plastics/Jason."

Ross Jones
"Jason is friendly and efficient. He responded very quickly to what was only a small job, fitted it into his busy schedule and had it all sorted in a matter of days. I liked that he was very mindful of our neighbours and that he noted other things on the roof that we should keep an eye on without pressing for a bigger job."
Worried that your roof leak is a sign of bigger problems?
If you’ve spotted a roof leak, it’s easy to fear the worst — but a leak rarely means you need a full roof replacement. In most cases, professional roof leak repair can resolve the issue quickly and affordably.
Our roofers typically fix leaks in a single visit. Every roof leak repair also includes a full roof inspection, so you get a clear, honest picture of your roof’s condition — not just a patch job.
On older roofs, a leak can sometimes point to deeper problems, such as deteriorated underlay, slipped tiles from nail fatigue, or general age-related wear. If our inspection reveals signs like these, we’ll walk you through your options, whether that’s targeted repairs now or planning ahead for a future reroof.
Unsure whether you need a repair or a replacement? Book a free, no-obligation roof assessment today and get a clear, pressure-free answer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you provide a quote for a house I am purchasing?
Unfortunately, due to the high number of requests we receive for quotes based on homebuyer surveys, we can no longer offer surveys for pre-purchase properties.
When do I pay for my roofing work?
For roof repairs, payment is usually due on completion unless the work is extensive or requires a lot of pre ordered materials, in which case we may ask for a deposit.
For new roof and roof replacements, we typically ask for a 25% deposit up front, follow by 25% half way though the roof installation, and the remainder on completion.
I have a plastic or lean-to roof. Can you help?
Yes, we can often help with polycarbonate, plastic and corrugated roofing on lean-tos, porches and similar structures. There are several different roofing systems in use, so please contact us with some details of your roof and we’ll let you know whether it’s something we can help with.
Do you still carry out a pre work site visit for emergency call-outs?
We always inspect the work first, but for urgent repair we’ll often complete the work at the same time or make it weather proof until we can return.
Some roofing work we had done previously is now leaking or faulty.
We regularly handle problems with previous roofing work, including leaks and repairs that haven’t fixed the original issue.
We can identify where the problem is coming from and, wherever possible, put it right without replacing work unnecessarily.
Can a flat roof be repaired?
Yes, flat roofs can often be repaired. Seams and edges are common points of failure and can often be repaired quickly and cost-effectively. Localised damage can also be patched, including cracked or blistered felt and punctures in EPDM rubber roofs.
If the covering is deteriorating across a large area or the roof deck beneath it is damaged, replacement may be more cost-effective than continuing to make individual repairs.
Are roof repairs covered by insurance?
It depends on your insurance policy and the cause of the damage. Typically, if the damage is due to a covered event like a storm, fire or vandalism, your building insurance may cover the cost of repairs or replacement. Just make sure to talk to your insurer before booking any repair work.
Damage resulting from lack of maintenance or wear and tear over time may not be covered. It’s best to review your insurance policy and consult with your insurance provider.
How can you be confident of fixing the issue first time?
With over 30 years’ roofing experience, we’ve encountered most roofing problems before and know where to look when the source of a leak isn’t immediately obvious.
We also check the surrounding roof for weaknesses or related problems rather than simply repairing the most visible damage.
We always carry out an initial site visit before quoting for repairs. It gives us the best opportunity to diagnose the problem properly and make sure nothing important is overlooked.
Can you match the roofing material I already have?
In most cases, we can find a very close match for existing tiles, slates and other roofing materials.
We have access to a wide range of materials through our suppliers and can also source reclaimed materials where appropriate.
With older roofs, an exact colour match isn’t always possible because the existing material will have weathered over many years.
How do you tell whether a roof should be repaired or replaced?
The decision to repair or replace a roof often comes down to how isolated the leak or damage is and the age of the roof.
Often a repair is quick and cost effective and can extend the life of your roof for many years. Occasionally roofing problems are a sign of age or wider deterioration.
For example, the underlay may have become damaged or the nails holding tiles in place weakened or corroded (”nail fatigue”).
