Roof repairs
Roof repairs are good for the soul and for the roof.
uPVC fascias, soffits & cladding
Your fascias, soffits and cladding are some of the most visible parts of your roof and provide an easy access point for squirrels, birds and wasps, which only need a small entry point as your roofline starts to age.
Older plastic fascias can become faded, brittle or damaged, while timber facias are prone to rot and their paintwork can peel, affecting the look of your property.
We regularly replace worn roofline products with modern, low-maintenance uPVC which gives a major lift to the appearance of your home as well as protection from the elements and pests. uPVC is a long lasting material that will stay secure, watertight and pest-proof for many years.
Why repair your fascias and soffits?
Reduce ongoing maintenance
Support your guttering properly
Keep birds and pests out
Protect against the weather
Increase your home's value and appeal
Reviews of Cambridge Roofing and Plastics

Angus Cameron
“Jason was excellent throughout the whole process from initial inspection of the facia and soffit that needed replacing. When the job was completed he came back and inspected everything to ensure everything completed correctly. Great communication throughout the job and I would highly recommend this company.”

Paul Srahan
"Although I only needed a small(ish) guttering repair job doing Jason was more than happy to help. He was super responsive and kept me fully updated about when he could do the job. He arrived exactly when he said he would, and as I was at work, he sent me photos of the problem and the work they were doing to fix it. I am very happy to recommend Cambridge Roofing and Plastics/Jason."

Ross Jones
"Jason is friendly and efficient. He responded very quickly to what was only a small job, fitted it into his busy schedule and had it all sorted in a matter of days. I liked that he was very mindful of our neighbours and that he noted other things on the roof that we should keep an eye on without pressing for a bigger job."

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace timber fascias with uPVC?
Yes. Old timber fascias and soffits can be removed and replaced with low-maintenance uPVC. Unlike timber, uPVC doesn’t rot and doesn’t need regular painting, making it a practical long-term replacement.
We’ll also check the condition of the timbers behind the roofline so that any hidden deterioration can be dealt with before the new system is installed.
Can birds or wasps get into the roof through damaged soffits?
Yes. Gaps or damaged sections of soffit can provide an entry point into the eaves for birds, wasps and other pests.
Repairing the roofline can close unwanted gaps while still maintaining any ventilation the roof requires. If animals are already nesting there, we may need to wait or take appropriate advice before disturbing them.
What is roofline cladding?
Roofline cladding is a protective covering fitted to areas around the edges or exterior of a roof, often on gable ends, dormers or other exposed sections. Modern uPVC cladding protects the structure beneath from the weather and provides a neat, low-maintenance finish. It can be installed in a range of styles that suit both traditional and modern properties.
What colours and styles of uPVC roofline are available?
uPVC fascias, soffits and cladding are available in much more than standard white. Depending on the system, you can choose from different colours, woodgrain finishes, board profiles and cladding styles to complement your property.
We can show you the available options and help you choose a finish that works well with your roof, windows and existing exterior.
How do I know if my fascias or soffits need replacing
Fascias or soffits may need attention due to rotting or cracked timber, peeling paint, sections pulling away from the roofline, staining or if you think birds or pests are getting into the eaves.
Not every problem requires complete replacement, so we’ll inspect the roofline and tell you whether individual repairs or new fascias and soffits would be more cost-effective.
What are barge boards and fascias?
Fascias and barge boards are boards fitted around the exposed edges of a pitched roof.
Fascia boards run horizontally, support the guttering and help to protect the roof structure behind. Barge boards run along the sloping edges at a gable end, protecting the roof timbers and giving the roofline a neat, finished appearance.
Traditionally these were made from timber, but modern replacements are commonly made from low-maintenance uPVC.
What are soffits?
Soffits cover the underside of the roof edge between the outside wall and the fascia board. They give the eaves a neat finish while helping to enclose and protect the roof structure from the weather, birds and pests.
Where roof ventilation is required, ventilated soffits can also allow air to enter the roof space, helping to control condensation and moisture.
